چکیده

Using the most recent updated physics, calibrated solar models have been computed with the new thermonuclear reaction rates of NACRE, the recently available European compilation. Comparisons with models computed with the reaction rates of Caughlan & Fowler (1988) and of Adelberger et al. (1998) are made for global structure, expected neutrinos fluxes, chemical composition and sound speed profiles, helioseismological properties of p-modes and g-modes.

The Nacre Thermonuclear Reaction Compilation and Big Bang Nucleosynthesis

The theoretical predictions of big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) are dominated by uncertainties in the input nuclear reaction cross sections. In this paper, we examine the impact on BBN of the recent compilation of nuclear data and thermonuclear reactions rates by the NACRE collaboration. We confirm that the adopted rates do not make large overall changes in central values of predictions, but do a...

Letter to the Editor Suppression of thermonuclear reactions in dense plasmas instead of Salpeter’s enhancement

A kinetic description of collective plasma effects for the thermonuclear reaction rates based on the generalization of modern plasma fluctuation approach shows that, in contrast to Salpeter’s enhancement, a decrease of the thermonuclear reaction rates is present which is larger for larger nuclei charge. By numerical evaluation of the thermonuclear reaction rates in the solar interior it is foun...

Big-bang Nucleosynthesis with the Nacre Compilation

Observations of light isotopes have flourished and in particular, high quality Li observations in the halo stars have been accumulated. Thus, it is timely to reassess the determination of the baryonic density of the Universe in the light of advances in nuclear physics and astronomical observations. (For details see K. Olive, these proceedings.) Most of the important reactions for Li production ...

Non-explosive hydrogen and helium burnings: Abundance predictions from the NACRE reaction rate compilation⋆

The abundances of the isotopes of the elements from C to Al produced by the non-explosive CNO, NeNa and MgAl modes of hydrogen burning, as well as by helium burning, are calculated with the thermonuclear rates recommended by the European compilation of reaction rates for astrophysics (NACRE). The impact of nuclear physics uncertainties on the derived abundances is discussed in the framework of ...

The thermonuclear production of 19 F by Wolf - Rayet stars revisited

New models of rotating and non-rotating stars are computed for initial masses between 25 and 120 M⊙ and for metallicities Z = 0.004, 0.008, 0.020 and 0.040 with the aim of reexamining the wind contribution of Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars to the 19 F enrichment of the interstellar medium. Models with an initial rotation velocity υi = 300 km s −1 are found to globally eject less 19 F than the non-rotati...
